It has been cold and dry on the Trinity throughout December. There are a lot of fish in the system but we could really use some rain to get them moving. Even with the low clear conditions we have been hooking good numbers of fish each day. If you plan on steelhead fishing come prepared for cold weather fishing. The lower Sac is holding steady at 5000 cfs and has been fishing from fair to good. We have had some windy days that have made fishing tough on this river. Calm overcast days have been the best with small mayfly and larger stone patterns catching trout.
